What the well is for

The October 1 question asks whether throwing things into the well does anything or simply removes them. The answer identifies it as the way to sell items, and the questioner acknowledges the explanation. The published opening walkthrough also describes selling through the garden well.

That supports the purpose of the interaction. It does not give a verified list of selling prices, the exact payment schedule or an undo procedure. Read the information shown by the game before committing an item you need.

Prepare a selling batch

Our recommended workflow is to open your active objectives first, identify the quantities you must keep, and split off only the excess. This is especially useful after growing something for a character request.

In a developer reply from 18 September 2026, during the demo, Shift splits a stack and Ctrl takes one item with keyboard and mouse. Check your installed version's controls before selling; the stack guide gives the dated instructions.

If you are worried about losing an item

Keep valuable materials in storage until you understand the well interface. Do not test selling with the only copy of a required object. A spare, ordinary item makes a safer first test because you can compare your inventory and the feedback without risking quest progress.

Those are protective suggestions, not claims that the game permits refunds or blocks every accidental sale. There is no sourced reversal procedure here.

Selling is different from dropping

Selecting a tool, dragging an inventory item, placing furniture and selling through the well solve different tasks. If your goal is to free backpack space while retaining materials, use a garden chest rather than selling them.

This page intentionally stops short of crop-profit rankings. Useful income planning would require checked prices and growth times for each crop; those figures have not been verified for the launch build.
