Read the translation before gathering
The Potionmaster uses archaic names rather than the labels you see on ordinary items. The version 1.06 quest log says you need a book to interpret the list and should put the found items in her cauldron. The villager walkthrough names Professor Rohesia, the Librarian and Professor Sylvine as possible people to ask about Arcane Ingredients to obtain the Arcane Botany Book. Read the book in your own game before treating any translation below as final for your build.
The six names and likely items
The following mapping and locations are reported by the Neoseeker foraging guide. It is one community walkthrough, so use your in-game book and inventory names to confirm each match.
| Old list wording | Reported item | Where the walkthrough points |
|---|---|---|
| Tail of the Fish | Wild Mint | Shifting Spires |
| Mote in a Verdant Dawn | Wild Thyme | Marywild's Manor, Cypress Foothills or Bellian Moor |
| Blue Void | Sorrowspore | Ochre Woods |
| Belated Hellebore | Dawdling Hellebore | Grow it from seed |
| Pixie Goblet | Pixie Cup | Bellian Moor |
| Sward Shards | Cut Grass | Scythe long grass in the garden |
The guide also reports Sorrowspores in Nocturne Forest. Pick with care: its separate Sorrowspore note says holding three or more can cause a negative status the next morning. This quest's list calls for one; there is no need to gather extras merely for this hand-in.
Finish the hand-in
- Check that the Potionmaster has given you the six-item list and the Arcane Ingredients topic.
- Ask one of the book leads above, then read the Arcane Botany Book. Compare its terms with your quest list.
- Gather one of each requested item and check their exact names in inventory. If a region is not yet reachable, follow your active travel or story objective rather than assuming the item is missing from the game.
- Place the items in the Potionmaster's cauldron in the garden and speak to her again. The quest log records the conversation after delivery as the close-out step.
This is a quest-item translation and gathering page. For how to brew, practice and use ordinary potions, see the potion-making guide.
Sources and limits
The objective sequence comes from the version 1.06 quest log; all six mappings and location leads come from one foraging walkthrough, checked 18 October 2026. We did not independently gather these items. The book and your own journal take precedence if a later version changes names or locations.
