The rescue has two parts

Codrin's problem does not end when he walks out of the ring. The version 1.06 quest log separates freeing Codrin from raising the ground under the ring so another visitor cannot be trapped. It then sends you after three more rings. Check your own journal after each interaction: its current objective is a better guide than repeating the first rescue.

  1. Find the rescue instructions. Ask about Codrin's fairy ring and read Eseld's Folly. The villager walkthrough names the Librarian, Chicory, Chrys and Nora as possible leads to the book.
  2. Bring the three required items. The quest log identifies five Chamomile, one Potion of Befuddlement and an iron bar. A potion guide lists two Wild Thyme and two Marjoram for the potion; use your in-game recipe if it differs.
  3. Return to Codrin's ring in Ochre Woods. Use the quest interaction with the gathered items to free him. If the rescue action is absent, recheck that you read the book and have the items in the form the journal requests.
  4. Seal the now-empty ring. Cast Song of Earth at the ring. The quest log describes this action as raising the earth; it is a separate step after the rescue.
  5. Speak to Codrin again, then find the remaining rings. The collectibles walkthrough says the next phase follows a later common-room conversation. Seal the other three rings with the same earth song and check the journal for completion.

Where are the other three rings?

The walkthrough places all four in Ochre Woods. Codrin's first ring is east of the griffin post; it describes the other three as east of Kaloula's outdoor class, south of the griffin post, and toward the north edge of the woods near Cypress Foothills. These are written landmarks from a community guide, not map coordinates we verified in play. Check the in-game map and journal if your route looks different.

If you have freed Codrin but see no new ring objective, visit the dorm common room and talk to him before searching every woodland clearing. If you found a new ring but cannot step inside, try the earth song on the ring rather than looking for a second batch of rescue supplies.

Why this matters for other quests

A player blocked at the Cursed Mill reported that freeing the person in the fairy ring and continuing in Ochre Woods moved their broader story forward. That is a useful lead, not proof that every mill blocker has this exact cause. The Cursed Mill guide handles the mill's own steps.
